Where is all this coming from?
This seminar will help parents understand the process of adolescents as it relates to "text book" issues from early adolescents, where they are more of a concrete thinker to when they began to process information more abstractly. We will focus on behavior issues and how to handle problem areas as they may arise.
Making contracts with your teenagers?
This seminar will help parents set the pace as it relates to expectations they have on their teen when it comes to chores, school work, behavior issues, friends, dating, getting a traffic ticket, lying, making bad choices and more. They will be led through a process of how to be proactive and make a contract with their preteen when all is well, and not wait until an "incident" happens. Doing this will bring greater peace to the home when any of these issues arise and help in the parenting process as it relates to punishment and grace. When teenagers know expectations and understand consequences up front, it can make parenting less stressful.
Staying connected with my teenager?
This seminar is designed to help parents stay connected with their teenager. Creative ideas will be offered that will help parents keep the lines of communication open through their Junior High and High School years. We will deal with subjects such as privacy, mothering instead of "smothering", and Fathering instead of "Futhering". Toward the end of the seminar parents will be broken up into small groups as a way to begin supporting each other as they deal with the task of parenting
